Some of the older members maybe will remember that car... and the car of my friend Marko Visacki from Serbia.I didn't hear him soon, maybe it's good idea to find his contacts again.
Well on the topic-i sold this blue 2103 in 2008.I was unsatisfied with the results of the repair.The car looks great, but this was only because after i start the restavration, i realized that this car is in too bad condition for restavration.And i transform the plan from restavration to repair, bought good paint-blue metalic, colour in the catalogue of new ladas-445, bought also those great wheels... they are from FIAT 131 actually.But in general, the repair was done with lot of mistakes.
I drove the car only few months.I decide to sell it, when i found the real condition of the body, during the repair.The mechanical part of the car works good.In November 2008 i sold it for 1000 EU.For everyday car i bought Opel Vectra and i start to search for a Lada in good condition of the body.Meanwhile i learn many things about the restavration process, the bodies, and for the lada weak places of the body and what couse them, what decrease the rust proces and how can i prevent it.
The searching of good Ltada took me almost 4 years.I was looking only for 2103, or if not-2106 model.And this spring i found 2106 near Sofia which is only at 28 000 km milleage.The price was good, only 500 EU.I bought it... it seems tha this car has no seriuos rust on his body, has a 95% complectation with original parts.But short after i get the car into my garage, i found that it has very bad front impact, somewhere in the past.The damages were too huge to repair it and so when it was restorated, they welded new front right лонжерон on it, with two new front fenders, new front hood, half piece of that part under the fornt window, new fornt mask and it was fully repainted.
Well... they are not so bad welded.The geometry of the body was good, so i quickly decide to restavrate this car.Also the fenders are same as the original ones.The only problem is that the new parts are painted directly over the transportation primer.So i have to take it down, to the pure metal, to cover with some good primers-Zink primer, nytroceluose primer, acrilyc paint.Under the body-bitum guard, in the closed places-Tectyl ML or other kind of parafine.
So this is the plan for the body.I took out everything in the front part of the car-the engine, front suspension, gearbox, front window, front doors... and so on, everything, and then start to remove the old paint.Also i made some new welds on the critical places, where the old ones was too weak or even broken.I disassemble completely the engine.The engine head has a big nead of repair... i replaced the camshaft with te bearing body, the valves... only for 28 000 the original was too damaged, caused from the bad oil.The engine block has only need of good washing, new main bearings for the crankshaft, and new piston rings.
The other stuffs-alternator, starter, carburator and the ignition distributor has a small problems, and i easily repair them.
